PRE-PHOTOGRAPHY AND THE MOVING IMAGE:

Oriental and western shadow performances, veiled shadows, miniature shadow theatre, optical boxes, polyoramas, anamorphic drawings, kaleidoscopes, lithophanes, optical toys, thaumatropes, zoetropes, magic lanterns, etc.

 

3RD FLOOR

PHOTOGRAPHIC TECHNIQUES. FROM THE DAGUERREOTYPE TO DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY:

Presenting the evolution of photographic technique through cameras and photographic equipment from the Daguerreotype to digital photography (camera obscura, Daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, ferrotypes, albumen prints, dry plates, oil prints, photograms, instant photography and colour).


As well as instruments, a large collection of works to illustrate the difference techniques on display.

 

2ND FLOOR

PHOTOGRAPHIC GENRES:

Motifs and styles of photography: Portrait, landscape, still life, anthropological photography, the nude. Parallelism between photography and plastic arts (Land-art, surrealism, conceptual art, abstraction) and the manipulation of photography (collages, photomontages).

 

1ST FLOOR

USES OF PHOTOGRAPHY:

Applications of photography in graphic arts, education, science, and relations with fashion, publicity, architecture, graphic journalism and cinematography.
The incorporation of cinematographic material has led to the installation of a small projection room.
